CHEERS ELEPHANT IS A ROCK AND ROLL BAND.

Cheers Elephant is a psychedelic pop-rock band formed in Philadelphia by Derek Krzywicki, Jordan del Rosario, Travelin’ Matt Rothstein and Robert King.

Built around three-part harmonies, melodic songwriting and a high-energy live show, the band developed a national following through years of independent releases and extensive touring, playing more than 300 shows and sharing stages with artists including Mayer Hawthorne, The Walkmen, The Go! Team, Rubblebucket, Darwin Deez and Jefferson Starship. Their hometown following led to multiple sold-out album-release shows at Philadelphia’s World Cafe Live, while Like Wind Blows Fire reached #65 on the CMJ Indie Rock chart and its standout single “Leaves” reached #4 on Hype Machine, with support from NPR, USA Today, Spotify and others. Rolling Stone/WSJ music critic Eric Danton called Cheers Elephant his “favorite SXSW set,” describing the band as “great, hooky indie-pop,” while NPR praised their “playful humor, energy, and some really great three-part harmonies.” USA Today compared those harmonies to The Beatles, calling the band “easy to love and hard to ignore.”

After relocating from Philadelphia to Los Angeles, Cheers Elephant continued recording and touring before the members eventually moved on to other projects. Their catalog has accumulated millions of streams and found an a recent placement of “Peoples” in Apple TV’s Ted Lasso. The band also developed a significant audience in China years after the height of its original touring run, prompting plans for an international reunion tour in 2020 before the pandemic halted the shows.

Cheers Elephant subsequently reunited in Philadelphia for a hometown performance at World Cafe Live in 2021.
